I agree! unfortunately, the sellers are the ones that have to live with the decisions eBay has made.

Thankfully many sellers both large and small have made the choice not to be controlled by the decisions made by eBay management and taken steps to take back the control of their businesses.

I agree,To me they have already done the damage..
So why try to to confuse and make matters worse by trying to separate everything. They made the decision, Now they need to live with it !

It'll be interesting to see what, if anything, comes of this.

What would the 2 sites be? One eBay for new, fixed priced items and another that's an auction site for antiques and collectibles?

Seems like a challenge to position yourself position yourself to have two such opposite formats. People have their perceptions of what eBay is. It's been built up over the years. Always hard to steer the ship in another direction - let alone two directions!

Cliff

I believe that if this does happen, it might be tough for a time, but both marketplaces will survive and could even compliment one another. We have to understand that there are buyers for both markets, and neither want to wade through items they are not interested in as the site is now.

I still fear that this idea ends up killing one of the two platforms, and I really hope it wouldn't be the one I'm on!

Look, if they ever do this, I think my #1 concern would be the third door, which Randy Smythe has referenced. With any separation of the site, my hope is that there is still one place where buyers can go to search and shop everything.

Thanks, Cliff
