Well it is finally here! The much awaited eBayLive2008 in Chicago. Sparky and I have finally arrived, and scoped out the event today. We arrived here in Chicago mid morning and went straight to the McCormick Center to view the final events at the Developers Conference and preview the building before the throngs arrive.
First let me tell you that parking costs $16.00 a day and if you leave and want to come back it’s another $16 bucks!!!!!!!!!
The McCormick Place complex is HUGE for those of you who have never been here. We checked into the PR office and got credentialed, then walked to the exhibitor floor to see friends. On the way we ran into my old eBay University boss Tom Cotton. I really enjoyed working with Tom and it is always good to see him. Tom used to co-ordinate the eBayLive events and now works on a consulting type basis.
Sparky and I wandered into the exhibit area and WOW, what a mess! Hundreds of workers busily scurrying around setting up all the vendor booths and laying carpet and all kinds of construction! To the less initiated folks, it would seem that this will take weeks to complete, but in less than 12 hours now, this will look super! I have posted some more images on our website so take a look.
We met up with David Hardin and some of the folks from ECMTA setting up their booth, and it was fun to watch!
Ask them about the Money Machine assembly!
We have lots of folks signed up for interviews and are waiting with baited breath for the news to be announced during the event and we certainly will be bringing the breaking news as soon as possible!
