Maybe eBay Needs To Listen To Meg Whitman

225px-pomidyarji Pierre Are You Listening?

With the current state of the economy, dwindling revenue and steep decline in both buyers and sellers many feel that Pierre Omidyar’s vision of what eBay should be has been rerouted. Buyers, sellers and even former employees have stated publicly that eBay has lost the focus and direction that once was the heart and soul of the World’s Largest Online Trading Community.

During her remarks in Miami Meg is credited with the following quote:

“Republicans are losing market share at an alarming rate,” she said Wednesday at the Republican Governor’s Association annual conference at the Hotel InterContinental in Miami.

It’s a particular problem with voters in key demographic groups: Hispanics and people under age 30, she said.

If the same situation occurred in the business world, and wasn’t addressed, “heads would roll.”

It Is Happening Meg, @ eBay!

While there remains a fair amount of controversy regarding Meg’s legacy at eBay, one thing is for certain. The above statement can very easily be changed to “eBay is losing marketshare at an alarming rate” and the final sentence needs to be emblazened on the walls at eBay!
