Recently my life was served up an amazing fastball opportunity right over the middle of the plate. It has turned my world as I know it upside down. Along with this opportunity in life comes some major considerations on how this will effect my businesses as well. These factors have caused my CONSIDERABLE angst and turmoil.
I took some much needed time to reflect and evaluate where I am at in both my personal as well as business life, and while on this mental sabatical, came to the realization that as much as we business owners want to seperate the two portions of our lives, they are completely intertwined and truly are inseperable. Now this may not come to a shock to alot of you, but just how much these two facets of life interact does truly amaze me.
Often times we are too easily lured into the pretext that business is business and it is not personal, but in fact it is all VERY personal. Our business reflects so many things about us as human beings that personal is really what is the driving force in business. We as human beings need stress in our lives, it is a requirement. What type of stress and what we do to handle it is an abstract look at how we control our lives. While many different methods are utilized to handle stress, I find I now need to utilize the being alone and sort through things method. This has helped immensely and while certainly a stress on my family, it has allowed me to get my head back into the game.
While I continue to ponder and reflect on how these opportunities will effect and possibly change my life forever, one thing is totally clear to me. When these fastballs come, Swing For The Seats, it is better than not taking a swing at all!
More to come on this saga!
